Our Visionary Founder

Shri Nanjibhai Ravjibhai Vekaria (born 6 June, 1938, Tanasva, Upleta, Rajkot India—died 3 December, 2022, Jetpur, Junagadh India), an eminent Educationist, Lawyer, Politician, Teacher and, Philanthropist, is a founder and the First President of Junagadh Junior Chamber Education Trust aiming to make available quality education for the students who hail from economically backward sections but dreaming high of Junagadh and its interior locality so that unto the last person can be benefitted having the right of education in true sense. He has been a source of motivation in all pillars of academics. Though he is not present physically, but one can feel his subtle existence in routines of the institutional progresses. He has taken care of students because he faced critical situations while studying.

Born into a middle class family whose primary and only livelihood source was farming, he completed his graduation in B.A. and studied LLB to serve as a lawyer. He was elected as a General Secretary in Law College which marked as beginning of his career in politics. He came to Junagadh in 1962 and started practice of advocate. He was elected in Ward no 10 for the first time and later he was elected as Junagadh District President from Congress in the tenure of Smt. Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister of India. He became Member of Parliament in the general election of 1971 and served for common men. His simplicity and strong determination of doing something extraordinary won the hearts of everyone. He loved reading religious scriptures and books on education, travelling, listening religious and patriotic songs in his free time. His role models were Lord Krishna and Mahatma Gandhi.

In 1969, he put founding stone of JJCE Trust by thinking to do something for the society especially educating children with the help of some of his friend who had same kind of sentiments for the society. With such collaborations and support, his efforts resulted into giving birth to the first grant-in-aid college offering B.Com. Program in Junagadh. He said that then Vice Chancellor of Saurashtra University, Shri Dolarbhai Mankad equally encouraged him for beginning of Commerce College & Law College by waiving of 30000 rs as deposit amount for the newly affiliated college with the university. He contributed introducing Junagadh as an Education Hub in Sorath and gave a new height to Junagadh by establishing institutions offering Professional Courses. He received numerous honours for his immense contribution in the fields of Education and Politics.

He is man of hard work, sincerity, honesty, dedication, strong will power, optimistic attitude, secular outlook, neutral and unbiased decisions, impressive leadership and many more qualities which proves him as one of influential personalities in modern era.
